crossing my fingers and knocking on the wood, so far it seems to be really even at 8 weeks old, it goes potty on a training pad, knows it's crate and sleeps in it, doesn't bark at all.

Labradoodle. Okay, my brain just boggled at that image. A labrador retriever and a poodle? A large poodle, I hope?

How about a Newfoundlander + chihauhia (whatever). A Newfihuahua? Oh, nevermind...

Standard poodles are not small dogs. Poodles come in 3 sizes. Standard, toy and .... damn my faulty memory. Screw it someone else can google it. But yeah, standard poodles aren't that much smaller than a labrador. Smaller but not freakishly smaller.

Oh and, poodles are bread with so many breeds now because they have "wool" rather than fur. They don't shed and are wonderful for people with allergies.

Another thing on allergies, people with cat allergies aren't allergic to the fur they are allergic to cat's saliva so if you get a kitten and bath it daily from the get go they won't cause allergic reactions.

And since I am having a random fact moment, did you know that if a female ferret goes on heat and doesn't mate, she'll die.

Actually, thats not quite true. Some of the poodle crosses have non shedding coats but its very hit and miss as to which will be non shedding (there can be huge variations within a litter). It was the guide dog organisations that began trying the cross to use as guide dogs for people with allergies, due to the different coats that come with a cross breed, they have stopped doing it now (in the UK at least).
