just dont want to be made fun of

I just have a simple question. I have this guy friend at the gym. Sometimes we just say hi and that's it. Other times we chat about serious stuff. I'm not interested in him like that, he's a lot younger than me. But yesterday we were talking and a friend of his, comes up behind me and obviously said something to him to make him laugh. Cuz he started laughing with him but continued our conversation. Just wondering, since I"m so self-conscious, do you think they're making fun of me or something?? Like I"m said, we were just chatting and he was the one who kept the conversation going, but I don't want to think they're making fun of me like saying I talk to much or something. Just wondering. Hope for some insight.

Have you ever heard of sarcasm? You really need to lighten up.

I totally know what sarcasm is, but it's taken a lot better when you know someone and you can see them in person so you can get a feel. Since I don't know you, I don't usually use sarcasm on someone I don't know, not the best way to get to know someone or make a good first impression as a person. Besides. . . . I wasn't looking for sarcasm, I was looking for opinions/advice. When I need some sarcasm, I'll let you know.
