Quick one about the old stigma of divorce

I'm currently going through a divorce. I've reached a point where I'm happy and positive and looking forward to seeing what the future holds.

So anyway I was out in town on Friday night and I bumped into a girl who I used to work with a couple of years ago. Anyway we got chatting and I thought 'what the hell' and asked her out. To my surprise (first time asking a girl out in over 10 years) She said yes. Great!

I saw my chance and took it, but now I'm trying to figure out how to tell her that I'm going through a divorce. It's only fair for her to know before anything happens but I'm struggling to put it into words. I suppose I'm worried about the stigma that surrounds it and that it may well change her mind.

Has anyone had any experience with this? I'm asking in the 'ask a female' forum because I thought it might help to get a female's point of view.

You are over reacting. Lots of people are going through divorce, it's not unusual and it wouldn't be a surprise to your date. It's just part of getting to know one another. Just don't dwell on the subject. I think it would be tougher to swallow if you were a single dad with young children......that would have me running away lol. Anyways don't sweat it it's just a date. Enjoy yourself.
