This may sound odd, but is there an ettiquette for who should text or message first? I know I'm not the only woman who wonders whether she's being too needy or annoying by texting first!
Any feedback or opinions welcome![]()

It's not too 'needy' if you don't overdo it. Do it once, if you feel you want to, but then wait for him to start the conversation next time![]()
It's 2012 - if you want to text first, text first... Although you are an Aussie, and I hear on the grapevine that men down under are way more concerned about their percieved masculinity than their European counterparts, so I don't know what the cultural convention is. Maybe it's time to break this outdated idea that men should always be the ones taking the innitiative anway.
What's the context? Have you just had a first date? A first shag? Have you just swapped numbers at a bar or something?
"... Tread softly because you tread on my dreams"
According to a book I read women should never text first because the man will immediately think they are a needy slut who just wants a shag.
But back in the real world, for ****s sake, I assume you're more than 7 years old so if you feel like texting him just ****ing do it. Do you have any more stupid questions?
If the guy isn't willing to text first then he is either a wimp, or just not that into you.
Good decisions come from experience. Experience comes from bad decisions.
