In 2 years of online dating I got 5 or 6 messages a day. 1 might be worth answering but conversation would die out in a few sentences. Every 4 months it might lead to an on going conversation. Every 6 months I might come across someone worth meeting. The rest were immature, shallow, only wanted sex, or incompatible in some major way. There's a nice study from Nature (I think) that discusses different kinds of mice brains with different genetic susceptibilities to addictions. So there is some truth that (at least in mice, or perhaps rats, can't recall) some brains are more addiction-prone than others. I'll leave someone with more time to find the link to the article. It was from a few years ago.

It not just porn. Porn is the tip of the iceburg. It takes years to develop it and there is other somewhat counter protective factors that stimulate the expressing of dopamine receptors like nicotine, exercise, nutrition and especially the fat soluble vitamins, A,D,K. Vitamins A,K is only found in leafy greens and vitamin D you make by exposing your skin to sunshine if you didn't know. These aren't 100% protective. A lot of people exhibit mild PD symptoms.. like anxiety, trembling hands at the market cash register or when socializing. First comes mental disorders.. the start of the nervous system deteriorating and then comes PD, alzheimer, etc.. the major deterioration of the nervous system.

In reality. A lack of fat soluble vitamins causes addictions. Not genetics. Our neurotransmitter receptors aren't getting internally expressed/stimulated by the fat soluble vitamins.. so we learn bad behaviors on how to stimulate them with Porn, drugs, entertainment, internet, relationship hopping and even being on here but these addictions aren't natural and just rewire our brain to the unreal.

I've read forum posts by women with husbands with PD... they catch their husbands knocked out in front of the computer with the porn open and blame PD as the cause of their porn addiction while its the porn and other addictions that caused PD in the first place!
