    Lending my ex money?

I will start off by saying that I still truly care for my ex even though he is seeing someone else. He recently lost his job and has needed help getting back on his feet. He recently asked me for $300 dollars for utility bills and rent and I feel horrible and considering letting him borrow it since I know he is struggling and it's hard to see someone you care about down. I already lent him close to 2000 dollars in the past few months to help him out. He says he asks me over anyone else because he trusts me and has known me for a long time but I'm not sure if I'm just being used and manipulated. Put yourself in my shoes and consider what you would do? Please serious answers only

I say, let his new girlfriend pay his $300 utility bill. And yes, I am serious.

Seconded. Sounds like he needs to grow up and handle his own finances.

You're being used and manipulated. Stop it now.

Just to elaborate a bit on my first post: The reason he "asks you over anyone else" might as well be that he has nothing to loose with you. I am sure that he wants to shield his current romance from his financial problems.

Essentially, you allow him to keep up his appearances and let his new GF see only his best sides, helping him disguise his troubles. She gets all the benefits of having him as her BF, while you're paying the bills.

Does this make sense at all?

do not loan him any money. If he can do once, he can ask for more later on.

Yeah he said he's asked his girlfriend but since she's a waitress she doesn't have much money to loan out. But you guys are right with me he has absolutely nothing to lose. Thanks to everyone for taking time out of your day to reply!

He's using the fact that you still care about him to manipulate you. No, don't give him any money.
