Unrequited Love, typical

so i have never been in a relationship but i have, actually am, in love. and typically it's not so simple, we met a year ago when i was living in america i have since moved across the Atlantic ocean. i fell in love with him months ago but he isn't aware. the night we first met he told me he was in (unrequited) love with a friend of mine. we became great friends and he is set to come visit me in about 5 months but as a friendly visit. i know i love him and i know i'm pretty much an idiot for it.
i don't want him to find out my feelings because i would die of embarrassment so can anyone give any advice to help me get over him? i would very much appreciate it.

I would lessen contact with him, don't talk to him as much and it should be pretty easy since you don't have to see him that often either. It stinks when someone doesn't feel the same way you do but you will move on and find someone who does
