that is true, all my friends say I would do fine with women if I only had more confidence. but I just can't seem to muster up that confidence. :/

Why are you insecure? You need to work on that. What are your good qualities? What can you offer a woman?

Most woman want a man whos loyal, honest, emotionally mature and confident. Inner strenght is important to me too as well as intelligence and ambition.
