This is why it's so important that you don't put the pussy on a pedestal. If you do it will make you act retarded.

lol id say the man has mental problems such as schizophrenia or borderline personality disorder haha! how would doing something so messed up and reckless impress anyone. Idiot!

I think its normal to a certain extent that if you really like someone that you want to impress them and seek their approval by showing them how great you are but most normal people are honest and dont go to this extreme or make things up or exaggerate their talents etc!

I agree with you, HIA. I lean slightly more towards a naturalist view but marginally. Nice Epicurus quote, btw,
Because we have to chase him. Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

I know, right? I laughed pretty hard when I heard this story, actually. And the radio announcers said, "No word yet on whether or not the date was impressed." lol

But that I can see. To an extent, I guess we are all trying to impress the one we're most interested in without *really* trying to. For instance, how many people spend a lot of time getting ready for a date? How many apply cologne or perfume when going on a date with someone they're really into?

Yep, it's a fact of life...Although the irony is, most broads in 'Murrica like when a guy DOESN'T try to impress them or even show interest.

They correctly regard it as childish.

OTOH, Rowen's correct that we do some things to impress that are appropriate, like trying to look your best for a date... but women usually do that to a far greater degree. For most men, it means showering, picking out a clean shirt, shaving, brushing your teeth and combing your hair - grand total, 15 minutes. My wife's the only woman I've ever been with that only takes 5 or so minutes longer than I do.

So what's changed is that the methods for impressing are acceptable what were once effeminate/feminine (e.g. displaying an effort to be hygienic).
Because we have to chase him. Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.

Thank-you, Captain Obvious. That was a rhetorical question.

I've never seen a hyphen between "Thank" and "you"....

I think there's more to this story,

I think that the guy was in an actual fight, then later when he got caught made up this lie for legal reasons. Possibly he thought he could get pity from the man in his forties and have him drop the charges, or could claim some sort of mental instability and have the charges reduced. I don't think it's as it seems.

This is quite true. If you impress too much or in the wrong way, it's a turn off. So, in the end, like you stated, the best bet is to just walk into it with impressing via good hygiene and seeing what happens. Other than that, anyone I'd date wouldn't need to impress me.

I don't know. That's just the report that was issued over the radio. Either way, it's screwed up.

    So legit
Erm... I'm not sure where you're going with this, but okay...
