So here's another question:
Why does most of dating consist of being really stupid? I mean, most girls and guys want a "challenge" and so skip a good person for something that is needlessly difficult. It's analogous to cutting off your arm to try to play baseball, just because that would be harder. I mean, most of life is extremely hard and challenging; one would think dating and relationships would be kinda therapeutic and would desirably be easier to get, rather than tacking on more challenge and complications.
Is it because most of 'Murrican lives are so vacuous? we need to keep our dull, routine lives interesting by making things harder than they should be? I mean, this is where games come from, right? And every girl plays games, as we know: I figure it must be a self-defense mechanism. Apparently, a guy can't be too eager or like her too much, otherwise she drops him for someone who causes her to be plagued with self-doubt and esteem issues...What's with the self-flagellation in dating? Chriiiiist...
Because we have to chase him. Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful protector. A dark knight.
