    Choosing clothes? (guy)

Im in secondary school right now, 16, and am kinda a geeky kid, but still fairly athletic. I have never really cared about how I looked until a girl friend told me I could look better, not geeky I guess. I got a haircut, tried some gel, but I have no idea how to buy clothes ... :$ literally I bought some slim jeans and a casual white linen shirt after 2 hours wandering in shops ...

I really just have no concept of what colours work/ what looks good. Im not really sure how anyone can help, I guess I would appreciate some ideas of "staple" clothing to have? I now have a lot more time having finished my gcses so I kinda want to get out there and be social and I figured this is the best way to start im at a private school so Im not going sagging trousers or anything. Id rather not put a picture out on the internet but I guess I could if I need to. Thanks in advance

If 16 and is summer you don't need to be that concerned, nicer tees, jeans, shorts, board shorts. can buy shirts and wear tees under and roll sleeves up and wear with jeans or longer shorts too.
Most of my wardrobe is casual stuff, because of my job and lifestyle -- have some suits, dress shirts, ties and nice shoes.
Have your own style, don't copy everyone else. Can post a pic of you in what you wear and cut your head off the images.

At this age you really should concentrate on whos inside your clothes not the clothes itself. Take good care of your skin. Work out if you want to fill up clothes better, get a tan and just wear simple clothes in your favorite color.

Its actually what you say makes a difference between geek and a cool guy. Be social and you will improve.

Well thats true. Its all about you. You can pick on your surroundings but in the end of the day all that matters is you. There is no excuse not to be healty, you have to be fit ! When you look good you can wear anything and look good(go to beach for example). Simple clothes let you concentrate on yourself and so you wont get distracted on whats importand. I was at my best when wearing primark clothes and everyone liked me. If you are geek you can wear best clothes but still be a geek, your actions will speak for themself.

The girl is right you do need to start working on a style in increase your desirability. Your best bet is to go to say American eagle or one of those places and ask one of the sales people to help you select a wardrobe. Having fashion sense is part of their job and that is what they are there for. So go back and ask for help. When you know you look good you feel good and confident. As they say the clothes makes the man. Dressed for success.

Was living in UK too and I promised myself - not to miss a single sunny day. So I went out every day and at least every weekend spend at beach. For acne ask your mum for advice. There is plenty of skincare products so you should exfoliate few times a week. But basics is - sun, fresh air, healty food, lots of water, and sweat. Sweat is the best cause it pushes out that dirt making cells to breathe. If you look in your armpits - theres acne too but it looks clean cause you sweating all the time. Also I noticed that supplementing with whey protein(myprotein.co.uk since you training it could benefit you even more. Whey and and glutamine is all you need{one serving after excersise} better spend your pocked money there rather then sweets which will make acne worse) helps skin look better cause skin needs protein too - it consists of it. It will take months to get rid of acne but its possible - just do whats best for you.

Haha that sounds like a great way to look at it, cant do the beach thing given I am just outside london, but I will try it I will try pro-activ or something like it, smackie can I get it in the uk?

Yeh a couple of guys mentioned that website actually, I guess I could try it, I am planning on going cold on chocolate/sweets for a while and see.

I might be pushing my luck here but any ideas about choosing a haircut? I just got a back and sides cut cause I dont know what I should get. I totally understand what you say about caring less about exterior and more about interior, but I think if I am comfortable in my look then I will be more confident

Just go to barber shop and show on some poster on the wall, say:" I want that one !" Thats what I ussualy do and end up with something like that
    images 3.jpg

When I do hairtcut at home its always short like this
    images (1).jpg

If you are not skinny and without giants ears then this is great haircut(better let barber do it) cause you can see your own face better so its a stimul to improve.

It's about finding your own person style and finding yourself in general. You should dress in what makes you feel good and what feels "like you". Once you find yourself, that will become easier. Don't force it.

The guy is asking only for ideas. The final decision is his choice.

That's loser talk. Girls always give us that BS platitude but it never gets results.

You need to post pictures for proper advice.
A strong woman takes advantage of help she can get from people around her but she doesn't rely on them for anything

She uses logic and manages her emotions

She offers help either because it is a business transaction or out of kindness. It is never because she hopes others will return the favour or out of fear of losing them

She has her own mind and thinks for herself and knows that she has to be the one who bears the consequences of her decisions
