Shy guyz why do u act crazy?!?!?

I have known this guy for about 2 years now...He's very insane and very very sensitive.. when we first met each other he was very shy,avoiding eye contact and pretty much didn't say much.At the time I didn't even know the guy and he was in my class.Whenever we interact he always acts cold/weird.Some time later this dude and I "find" each other online and chat and stuff...and then he's a very open and awesome person to talk to and we relate very easily,and turns out he's a very cool guy,we continue talking for a few weeks and he interact and initiates conversation.But then irl he doesn't even acknowledge me.He never looks me in the eye and he is super quiet as well as even weird.But then I notice the dude staring at me and if I look his way he immediately turns away...like he would stare out of the corner of his eye and if I even glanced his way,or our eyes met for like two seconds he "runs" for his life.Because of this I just pretend like I don't see him and then he stares like crazy even my friends tell me that and then he even laughs at jokes i make and stuff but when I approach him he acts crazy...I know he's shy but he talks normally to other girls so what's with me? Is he weirded out or something? Also his friends are teasing him like crazy and even tried to push this dude towards me and they grin like insane and "coincidently" he stands around me and he even try's to get attention by doing weird things like acting weird,dragging his feet,walking really loudly and obnoxiously like all around me and yes,I tried ignoring him then and he finally stops and just stands next to me and stares like crazy. Really weirded out by this... Also when this guy sees me/we see each other face to face he becomes super scared and even hides/runs,he always looks at the floor if he notices me looking at him,he also "hides" behind his "friends" (when he sees me looking at him)...like when I do give him attention he looks everywhere but at me and he even talks to my friends and stuff but he always ignores approaching me...And if i talk to other guys/girls he's friends with he immediately starts staring intensely and even leans my way and looks me in the eye and even trys to get my attention or he gets annoyed and starts acting obnoxious...the guy acts insane like this all the time in class but he never ever directly talks/interacts with me... If this guy is weirded out he shouldn't be stalking me, but seriously what shud I do? I think he's a awesome guy but he is so weird and shy that it's way too awkward...When he isn't so "crazy" he is actually a really neat dude, I actually like him but he expects me to "not" like him...but I do,...but he acts soooo weird but I wanna show him I care without making him too nervous so please helppp me out here!!!!
