    problems with the forums

    Ok this is getting out of control... the "Helper" user that was added to the site is so annoying, it actually makes me not even want to read the threads. What if we migrated somewhere else? Especially since it seems like none of our suggestions are even taken into consideration. I don't know where we could go though .

    As long as it only stays as one ad I don't mind it. When they start infiltrating between every post then this site will end up like that pink site that died an ugly death from all the ads.

    I think one ad isn't too intrusive.

    Usually LA consults us about changes. In this case he didn't.

    The forum has had different "ads", but this one is actually fairly annoying. Waiting to see if it was added by LA or someone else that works with him.

    Guys, just get AdBlock Plus for Chrome. PROTIP: if you want to use it to also block the ads on YouTube and the annoying video annotations that users put on their videos, go into the "Customize" menu and add these lines in (yes, including the two pipes prefixing each filter):

    Code:
    ||youtube.com/annotations_invideo*
    ||s.ytimg.com/yts/jsbin/www-linkgplusdialog*

    Dork. Right-click the ad:

    Then click "Looks Good", and "Block It".

    Funny... I've got AdBlock for Firefox (yes, I still use it), and while I hadn't seen the ad, the name and avatar was still there. Didn't bother me enough to get rid of it.

    Whee, thanks I can't get it to block his entire post though (it blocks everything else), but the annoying red avatar is finally gone.

    To block the entire thing, drag the slider to the middle, so it says <LI class="postbit">. I don't see any part of it.

    Firefox is for failures.

    Eh... I tried Chrome. It was marginally better in some ways, but I didn't care for the interface, and google is intrusive enough in my life. Though now that Firefox has changed their interface to be much more like Chrome, I might switch back.

    If you'd rather avoid Google, use Chromium instead of Chrome.
