His reaction to me dating another guy?

I have this friend that I've texted often for the past 3 years. I have some feelings for him. But I thought he didn't share the same feelings for me. So I decided to go on a date with another guy. I shared with my friend that I did have a date and I couldn't respond to him quick. He was very nosy and asking a lot of questions about our date and the guy. I found that very odd. He was asking who he was, his ethnicity, what we did and if we kissed. Why was he very interested in this? What could this mean? Was he just curious or is it for a reason? Thanks
