@basil - i don't know anything on the menopause sex drive loss topic but if your pills are in your system and working without too many issues what about a change of scenery, a trip for you and your husband to go on to spark something re the sex drive. couldn't hurt to plan a couples getaway.

have you spoken to a gynecologist over the years? You could consider other options. When I was a baby I was in foster care for a few years. My mum was very young and my grandmother was ill so she wasnt allowed to look after me on her own until she reached a certain age. (Ireland was v complicated back then as I am sure you know). Anyway my foster parents couldnt have kids and they fostered over 30 children in 30 years. They gave them all a secure, loving home and even adopted one child and another is still with them 20 years later. They are also still a big part of my life.
Theres lots of kids out there who need loving parents. Its just something to consider. Even if your not sure that you would like to commit permanently-you could put your name forward for temporary short term care to see how it goes. That way a child would be placed with you and your wife until they find a more permanent home

I've been AWOL on this thread for a bit - not wanting to talk about myself much because of mood swings. Withdrawals from old antidepressant before new one kicks in has been interesting. A couple of days ago I was a basket case and now I'm just waiting for someone to piss me off..... Have downgraded big barbeque tomorrow to just be some afternoon drinks and cake.
Thanks so much for all the suggestions. Exeter, a weekend getaway sounds great - especially when combined with some of Wakeup's suggestions . Porn is far too hysterical to be sexy, but a sexy foreign movie might do the trick. And I've got a nice little order coming in from an adult shop. I think that on top of all the meds and hormonal changes and life in general, we just got too vanilla. And vanilla ain't hot. And to make it worse, I now seem to need a little bit more buildup than a 'how you doin?" after we've been sitting in bed reading at night. And I'll look at the herbal ideas too.
Hubby is now going to try and work at home one day per week. I'm allowed to disturb him at lunchtime when the kids are at school And there's a chapter in a book about lost libidos which I'm going to ask him to read.
Never regret anything that has happened in your life. It cannot be changed, forgotten or undone. So, take it as a lesson learned and move on.
Basil as long as your trying as a team to fix this, you will be fine and it sounds like you are doing everything right Consider this a blip. Its just an adjustment period and it will all work out. You and hubby have been going strong for so many years. Sex aint everything and the bond you share will get you through this until your ready to get back into the swing of things. Even young couples go through this from time to time. When I was out of work, I was so low and depressed-my sex drive was literally gone for awhile and it was a big effort to try and get into it but I am back to normal now. I know in your case its a little different as you adapt to the hormone changes and what your body is going through but plenty of women older than you who have been through it all are still mad for sex. You will be fine hun. Best of luck and keep us updated. This forum has helped me through so much and its a wonderful stimulant for my over active mind lol so I will have your back
