What age is best age to get married?

Is 21 y.o too young? I want to be a young wife and mother so I want to get married at some time between 21-24 y.o

When did you get married, were you ready at that age?

My mother got married at 23 and my sister at 22 1/2. So getting married in early 20's is common for my family.

I got married at 20 and it was WAAAAY too young. Emotionally, I would not recommend marriage before one's late 20's.

Economically, if you're in Australia as your profile flag suggests it's really not viable. Have you looked at the cost of housing? Are both of you able to afford rent/mortgage? Are your HECS fees under control?

That being said, I do know a few people who have married recently who are in their mid twenties. But what they all have in common are established careers and are able to afford housing.

I at the wait till late 20's, I always felt even at 16 I wanted to get married, and start my family early. I think at my age now, 21 y.o I am not ready but if asked I would say yes and wait a year or more before we wed.

BF and I do not live in the same area, it's LDR dating. Two different countries. I would move to the UK if anything more came of it, but in my other thread nothing more will come of this relat. if he won't be honest and say F.O. to me.

Yes, it's expensive here to get a house, could only afford a 1 bedroom apartment. Renting. With the man I am involved with now, I would move to the UK because he would not move here. In The UK he has a 2 bedroom flat, good job and I would get work there as soon as possible.

This was more a what if, wishful thinking.

No at 21 I do not have a well established career. I do work steady though but I am not pulling in a lot of money like some might.

i'm waiting for mid twenties or later. i don't feel i would be ready for that commitment before that, i need to bank more bucks, plan for a future for two plus.

I think its best to wait. apparently we change a lot in our 20's. You could want something completely different at 25 to what you want now.

Twenty one is young, unless you have to get married if not, yeps.. young. I would have liked to been married now but I probably won't until 27 years old now, if lucky. I don't hold out any hope anymore for such things.

When you said have to get married you mean if someone becomes pregnant?

I know some girls who didn't even marry then and their families wanted them too before the baby was born, ones child is 2 now and still not married and I think she regrets they didn't now.

My wife and I are in our 20s, we would have probably waited another year or two if not pregnant.
So I'd say mid 20s on is the best age for both sexes to get hitched.

I guess in the middle twenties or later twenties is the age most agree on.

I guess I am the oddball wanting to marry so early on.
