A mugshot of a ridiculously photogenic criminal taking the internet by storm may just prove that women really do love a bad boy after all.

Jeremy Meeks may be a convicted gangster and facing yet more illegal firearm charges but that hasn’t put off thousands of women around the world from swooning over his chiselled jaw and dreamy eyes.

Stockton Police Department in California put the picture on its Facebook page yesterday and it has quickly racked up almost 40,000 likes and more than 12,000 comments.

Jessica Gutierrez commented: ‘He can kidnap me any day… Hold me against my will lol.’
