Hello! Ex said to me at a party of our friends birthday there is no one else when I asked him about a girl who keeps liking and commenting on everything he adds. We were both drunk and I asked him if we should go back to his place he said its not the best idea even if it would be amazin and added "It's because I love you I won't sleep with you" now. Should I believe him that he loves me or not?

It shows that he respects you. The relationship is over and he doesn't want to hurt you with false hope or use you. Its time to move on, cut contact with him, start healing and when your ready-meet someone knew.

Him saying, " love you " could translate to him saying I care about you and your feelings and because of that I won't put us back in that position again and lose your friendship.

I don't think he loves you in that way. He probably meant it as a friend and a caring kind of way. It's good that he treats you well, and it's time for you to find another guy.
