Friend I care for, Heart somewhere else. Trusts this guy but never met him.

Hey guys,

Got a hard situation and I don't know how to deal with it. Right now I am deciding do I stay friends and try to prove over time that I can be the guy she's looking for or do I walk and leave my friendship with her behind. I've known her for two years and she has recently go out of a year long relationship and is not looking for one currently. I know she's been hurt before.

She has stated that her heart belongs to someone else that she trusts completely, However she's only spoke to this guy over the internet and never met the guy face to face so I don't see how she can trust a guy completely just by talking over the internet to the extent of how much they have spoke I do not know. She stated that the guy is extremely open about what he wants I'm assuming they spoke via skype. How should I handle this?

I love her to bits and want to get to know her more and connect but I also don't want to be the second option.

You are wasting your time on this girl. She is infatuated by a stranger that she met online. I think people who fall into this trap have some issues and they wouldn't make a good real life partner when they are so easily seduced by a fantasy relationship with a stranger who could be anyone.

Move on, cut contact and stop wasting time on women that only want to be friends.

If you're someone who doesn't mind being the second option, I'd say wait it out but keep your options open. However, since it's a deal breaker for you and you are indeed the second option in this situation, I'd advice you to let her go.
