My boyfriend and I are both 25 years old, have had a wonderful relationship for a year, and just found out last week we are expecting. Prior to this knowledge, we have discussed getting married and having a family in great detail and it has been something we both were very sure we wanted together. We were looking to get engaged and married over the course of the next year or two due to financial reasons. Now, with this news, I along with my family, would be much happier if we were to be married before the baby is born in May. I don't want this to become a pressure filled situation. My boyfriend and I have talked about it briefly since the news last week, and he said "We were planning on getting married anyway, we can just do it sooner and before the baby is born."
My emotions are all over the place right now and I'm scared me bringing this up will make my boyfriend feel like I'm forcing the issue or making it like he "has to" do this ASAP. I know money is still tight and I would honestly be happy with a simulated ring from Walmart and a small courthouse ceremony.
Should I just leave it alone? How can I approach this without making it seem like I'm forcing it?
