My grandma's funeral today was beautiful, very hard, but beautiful. A lot of people who attended said this is what the will want for their own funeral. Short, right at the funeral home, and very personal with gorgeous flowers. My grandma was a great gardener. Not a lot of religion brought into it other than my grandma's favorite verses and the pastor actually had her very own bible and talked about what she had highlighted and noted things like faith, hope, and love and talked about how those were intertwined into her life with all her friends and family. So nice my bf made it. He hit it off good with my family. I was also able to show him our lake cabin and hit up the winery. Oh yes, and my car was fixed today. I thought I was going to have to spend all my tax money on a new catalytic converter. It was just (thankfully) a pipe that broke to the exhaust system. The mechanic was able to weld it back together! Only charged me $40!!!!!!!! Amazing. Now I can get my new camera and its that time for me to upgrade phones and have cushion money too. I'm so thankful.
So, so you think you can tell Heaven from Hell,

Can you tell a green field from a cold steel rail?
    A smile from a veil?
Do you think you can tell?
And did they get you to trade your heroes for ghosts?
    Hot ashes for trees?
Hot air for a cool breeze?
    Cold comfort for change?
And did you exchange a walk on part in the war for a lead role in a cage?

My dog had surgery and she's doing better. She's a good girl--smart as hell, too.

Spent a whole day to myself, shopping and adventuring out around St Paul/Minneapolis. I spent several hours at IKEA, found some awesome king sized pillows for my bed. I am re-doing my bedroom, feels so nice.

I enjoyed giving my boss a chai and a chlorophyll pill and watching her back off the ledge. She was heading to the dark side and now she's back.

My mom's best friend (who is a patient on my hospital floor after having a massive stroke) is showing amazing progress. (tPA is a FANTASTIC, life saving drug.) They expect she will make close to a full recovery... just overnight, her ability to speak has greatly improved, and she is already walking, with only moderate weakness to her right arm.. Plus, the doctor treating her is the same one who spontaneously held my hand not long ago... I told him that this woman is a friend of my family, and he was extra-attentive towards her.

Also, I was happy to be able to finally discharge a patient I've had around for a couple of weeks... she was probably the most pleasant patient I've had in months, and she was so happy to go home.

it was a really nice couple of shifts, overall.

Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

I enjoyed officially hearing that my replacement (I resigned and came back 9 months later with a slightly lesser role) has royally stuffed up everything he has touched.

I already knew that, but the official account was gratifying on so many levels.

He's since taken paternity leave for the next 8 weeks (conveniently ducking out of a huge work load).

I've been restored in the interim.

    He never had a chance.

A nice, quiet, empty gym tonight.
    Hitting up Borders.
