^^^ yeah I was thinking that as well, but now I'm not so sure. This afternoon we just went and got some coffee and sat on the beach. She had to go to dinner afterwards so there was no prospect of sleeping together. And she blew off some drinks with her friends so se could come meet me. And this time it didn't feel like we were just friends, anymore. Not a couple either. Something in between.

And she was like, "there's something you should know, my ex and I were seeing each other before he went overseas a few weeks ago. I broke it off with him the other night, and I told him about you and he went beserk. I don't know what's going to happen with us, but I just wanted you to know that so it didn't get messy later."

The news didn't worry me. After all, her ex left to go overseas before me and her hooked up. She has mentioned him before, she broke up with him officially a couple of months ago. I was actually pretty impressed she told me. And I've noticed a bit of a shift in her as well. She's warmer.

Myself, I'm not sure what I want. I'm happy to let the cards fall as they may. To see where things go. But I've reaslised I wasn't interested in just some pragmatic coupling to ease our sexual urges until one of us found something better. I'm not wired for that sort of thing. I find those arrangements robotic and depressing: a pale imitation of the real thing.

I knew you guys'd say this. But I highly doubt it. This break-up hasn't been traumatic. They went out for maybe four months, she was never that keen and she broke up with him because she strongly suspects he's gay. Since then he's been trying relentlessly to get back with her and he's got a few past the keeper. They've been hanging out more than anything, he doesn't like to f-ck apparently.


In any case, you needn't worry about me. I don't hurt easily.
