The waves give you a rush? I watched a documentary on TV about professional surfers. They showed this scene where a surfer falls off the board and gets sucked under by the current whilst being pounded by wave after wave. It looked like a sure way to die.

yeah, like jumping out of an airplane, but lots of people get a kick out of that, too. some peolpe get addicted to drugs, others are adrenaline junkies. i can't really see what's in it for either of them, but that's maybe only because i've never tried it out. some things i'll just never know, i guess.

Cheating death? Maybe a little.. I think it's definetly the rush of it all. I don't think people do drugs to cheat death, I think it's more to hide or get away from problems currently in there life.

hahaha, when this thread got close to it's first 1000, there was zeek who cheated just to be the one to get to the 1000. now i guess zeek has a follower.

and chlor... yup, you can get sucked into the undertow. and being that hawaii has a lot of coral reefs, which provides the calm waters, they also provide a sure way to cut yourself if you're surfing too close to them.
