Getting to know each other is NOT about giving her free therapy sessions! Heck, if all a girl does is tell you about her dramas when you're getting to know her, you need to dump her. While it's great to support a friend or partner in need, if someone only ever uses us for support, they need to be cut loose.
During the time when you're getting to know her, it's also OK to talk about yourself. It's about the art of conversation. It's about finding things in common, it's about exploring each other's ideas and beliefs, it's about making each other laugh.
You've said previously that girls are very simple to market to. So put your money where your mouth is - get out there and market yourself.

Ohhh....I wish they taught this sort of thing in high school. It would've helped tremendously.

Lol, that isn't THIS girl that I am meeting. Back in the summer of '08, Obama was right around the corner, the country was doing better..Coldplay released their last great album and "The Dark Knight" blew everyone's minds. That also happened to be the time I was "sort of" dating a girl. 1 day after NC, on a sad, tragic Thanksgiving midnight, I saw her update her status from Single to In a Relationship, followed by a picture of them together..That was the beginning of the end for me, I'm afraid. Most people pick this stuff up without being taught - though some have a much easier time with the unwritten rules of social skills than others. High School is as much about learning social skills with our peers as it is about education. Of course, teens make mistakes while they are learning this stuff - but the mistakes are what we learn from. Originally Posted by Love'sReject

Oh my lord. Funny story: Once my dad and his date took me to the movies. It ended up being "8 Mile" and that was the first time I knew how awkward movie sex scenes are when you're with a parent....
