Its a Word. Women make up roughly half the population. They are not a minority. Before long, they wont even need men. In my opinion, women who get offended by such a simple word have a tampon stuck up their arse. No offense Vashti

cunt is a pretty vulgar word, but then again, i'm a pretty vulgar person and i probably use the f word at least 15-25 times a day.

    How is that relevant?

i think that the bottom line is, it's just like the f word. whether you like it, use it, or hate it, it will still be around and in common sight. just close your eyes if you don't want to hear...

I have a woman at work who would probably literally close her ears if she heard a "cunt" and she would start to pray to her beloved A.

Cunt is not even censored on this forum, why people don't get offended with the ford "f-u-c-k" then?

Cunt sounds so english, I hope when Friss was writing it, he was spelling it loudly with a british accent , ouh

i think the reason that it isn't censored is because loveadmin's first language isn't English, and he doesn't understand the full impact of the word.

    Sorry, I couldn't resist

I think the word is more widely accepted here in Australia than in US. It can be used in all sorts of un offensive conversations:

To a friend - Thanks, what a sick cunt!
About a boss - My boss made me stay back, he's a cunt
At a friend's birthday - How you goin you old cunt?
    Don't cry, don't regret and don't blame
Weak find the whip, willing find freedom
Towards the sun, carry your name
In warm hands you are given
Ask the wind for the way
Uncertainty's gone, your path will unravel
Accept all as it is and do not blame
    God or the Devil

I hate that 'c' word. I'd rather be called a 'twat' or something else, lol

Cunt is a pretty serious insult in the Midwest. The one and only time that I called my girlfriend that, in the heat of a very serious misunderstanding, she was extremely offended. We almost broke up over that argument, and the only way she would accept my apology was if I also took an anger management class. The class was a great experience, and not only saved the relationship but also saved my career. In general, here in the Midwest, the C-word is about the worst thing that you can call a woman.

I remember an episode of News Radio that covered this territory. Dave admitted to Beth the receptionist that he and his girlfriend Lisa (another co-worker) had been fighting, which was why Lisa seemed so upset. Beth asked if Dave had called her the B-word, and Dave smiled awkwardly and admitted that he had gone a little bit past that. Beth gasped and exclaimed, "You called her the C-word! Oh my god, Dave!"

I'm surprised how many men don't realize the harshness of this word. Just the other day someone called someone a bitch and we all laughed, then someone said yeah, what a cunt. The ladies in the car all 3 of them had jaw dropping reactions. Since he was a buddy we kindly explained why he should proably never ever use that word again. He made the same claim Fras did here I didn't know blah blah blah. So while SOME ladies and gents obviously don't take great offense to the word much like dick, bitch or the like but where I am you say that- there's outrage.

The equivalent insult for a straight guy would be something like "c*cksucker."

haha! WTF does being a white male have to do with whether or not someone is offended by a particular word? And have you bothered to notice that there are males posting in this thread that AGREE it is offensive?

I don't think so. Unless it was a gay guy inviting him to be one. lol

Seriously, I can't think of an equivalent term for males that would carry the same weight, except maybe if a woman said he had a little penis (which would only have the same impact if he did).
