I'd say its going to go on until you die. You haven't left her yet and you knew that she wasn't much interested in sex from the first time you bopped her. She aint changing mister and it looks like you're not going anywhere. Six years and you're still putting up with "it is what it is."

Time will tell if you can go an entire lifetime with her without getting is elsewhere. tick, tick, tick

The way I see it: He is neither patient or optimistic. He's codependent, he's trying to change someone and he doesn't realize that the only person he has the control over to change is himself... so like all codependents (until they get the lightbulb moment) he will stick it out while he bitches about how much he loves her and how miserable he is and instead of leaving, he'll stick around and more likely then not, cheat on her.
