Hey Nomas - are you any good at math? Math tutoring is not bad money. I'm tutoring 9 hours a week and making almost $30 an hour. I'm planning on trying to do that wherever I move next, to help get settled in. There's probably tutoring jobs available in other subjects too, I just know math tutors are in demand for parents who want their kids to go to college.
where the hell do you get all of your money from??
raverboy
...this is just my perspective on the situation...
Hey Nomas, careful when you go to Mexico, that place has gone to hell.
I gave you my heart
I gave you my soul
Now I'm just another number
at the Center for Disease Control
Nice one, nomas.
Our upcoming blog section may just be an ideal place for you post updates about your trip.
"Invest wisely and have money work hard for you"
Yeah, I post.
I'm in New Orleans, will be in New Orleans until at least the end of the summer, then it's back to Philadelphia.
I thought you hated phili, fras.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?
I hate some of my family.
And I was itching to get out from under the roof of my father (whom I don't hate) at the time.
I'll update you all on it later.
That sounds like tons of fun nomas! But how the hell can you afford that?
he's gonna clean out my garage.
baby ya hustle. but me i hustle harder.
He said he wants to do some jobs to earn money on the trip . Like Work and travel or something
I wazzzz here
Thanks for the tips on the more difficult places to get accross...it's way in advance right now, but I'll update as I go along.
The idea is to do it without money..only an essential, initial safety net, but one city will take me to the next. I know I make it sound idealistic, but I'm prepared to sleep under bridges, in parks, go to McDonalds at closing time to ask for the burguers they didn't sell. I don't think it'll come to that in the states, but, really, its a lot easier than one thinks to just survive. I don't require luxuries, I only require food, a roof over my head, and people to talk to .
Also, my plan to fall back on will always be home I could always rebuild in the states before moving on, that's easy enough, I have hight confidence there.
Frisbee, can we meet up in NO?? That place has been on my list for a long time.
MVP, so you're still around too! Don't know if you were being sarcastic about Mexico, but the city in my location is not sarcasm!
That's a good option, Indy..I'll look into that cuz I'm not bad at math and I've done tutoring before .
Be careful, Nomas. If you admit that you need a job to save up money to get to the next country, they may manipulate you into earning really low pay to the point where you're practically an indentured servant.
I think it's a bad idea to fly with a one-way ticket.
