The medical field is largely based on highly informed guesswork. If you went to a general practice physician the first time around, he can't be expected to have first hand knowledge about every single weird thing that could happen to you. You need to see an ear/nose/throat specialist.

And for the record, cultures are sent to a lab to determine the organsim. The physician just reports the lab's findings.

you need to swallow more instead of just sucking on the damn thing. it's a very good source of protein and your body is craving for more...

side note. being that you don't drink a lot of water is another common source of bad breath. bacteria have a tendency to build up because it's not being flush away or what not... that's one reason why people stink in the morning after a night of drinking.

you need to drink plenty of water, avoid sugars, caffine and pork. All these feed bacteria. You may want to try making ginger root tea out of fresh ginger or make fresh lemon juice mixed with water.
If that doesn't work I suggest you try meditation it can kill bacteria and viruses.

I moved to tacoma and Im not used to eating not-really-healthy food all the time and ive gotten sick quite a bit so that would be a good idea though it wouldnt fix my throat
