Feasible for who, Dopple? As for a PhD, I would only recommend that for those who are fairly certain they want a career in research/academia.

Otherwise, a Masters/MBA is usually more than sufficient. A PhD can actually be a barrier to employment in certain areas.

MIT is a great school for areas outside of engineering, but they just don't have a program of bio like we do at Cornell

Oh, and about undergrad years not being important- BULLSHIT. These are some of the most important years for me because they're going to decide whether or not I get into medical school. Which pretty much decides my entire future

Hate to break it to you, but even with a perfect GPA you may not get in. In fact, if that is all a student has to recommend, its more likely they won't.

You should look up the current statistics on students getting into med straight out of undergrad, DM. The folks I know either worked for a couple years (usually in research) or did a masters or lived in Africa/South America.

It wasn't always like that. I got accepted after my 3rd year, but times were different. One could come straight out of a bachelors & into a decent job. Now a BS is basically like a high school degree was. I was also a woman & doing science, which was less common then.

Do your homework, DM to max your chances. And make sure you have a backup plan in case you *don't* get in.

I know, that is why I'm doing all the volunteer in the hospital bullshit and travel abroad to Honduras or some random poor country to set up a clinic and going to do research and other forms of volunteer work

And as to the GPA bit: Cornell, much like University of Chicago, is the opposite of grade inflation. My vet went here and said he didn't know anyone with a 3.0 or higher who COULDN'T get into medical school. I'm currently at a 3.8 and have taken mostly real classes
