Why do you have to be rude? The title of this section is "ASK A FEMALE" If someone posts here it is with the intent of getting a woman's point of view. It's the entire point of having separate section. He's posting a question to females asking about periods...why are guys responding? No I won't get over it thanks for your pointless acknowledgment.

Too bad it grows back every month. Persistent little bastard.

I think I sometimes have a milder version of what your girlfriend experiences.
Two days before I will get my period I'm so emotional, I can't really explain but it's like I'm soaking in emotions: they're everywhere!
I will take everything personally a lot faster and it rarely happens that I don't cry... sometimes even over nothing.
And I know I tend to get emotional, but I really can't help it.
I can imagine that it's hard for my boyfriend too, because I can get really sad.
But it's only two days and then I'm over it.

I do want to add that for me it gets worse when I'm under stress.
When I have no stress at all I don't suffer from emotions that much...

What to do to make it worse:
comment something like: It's the time of the month, again! (and then sigh)
be angry and blame her for it
    be distant

What to do to make it better :
be supersweet and make her feel confident and loved
don't overreact when she transforms into a dramaqueen, it's not personal
    support her
    tell her you love her

Don't ever take it personally. Women react differently....some get moody, some stay the same and some get downright *****y! I personally like to be alone for the first 2-3 days. I don't want anyone to touch me or even come near me. All I want to do is sleep I'd say now that you know what the issue is, leave her alone during her period. In fact, talk to her about it when she's feeling 'normal' and ask her if there's anything she'd like from you during those days. She might just tell you to leave her alone and you should respect that because trust me, going through on a monthly basis gets annoying very quickly! Don't let it get to you.....just remember how always she is the other 3 weeks of the month.
