Altama is the leading supplier.
Belleville is generally of higher quality and more features.
Corcoran has the "classic" combat boot among other styles.
Danner is like the Ferrari of boots. Very high quality at a very high price.
There are several brands that supply the military, but these I'm more familiar with.
Aegis, do you have the commercial version, or the military spec jungle boots?
I have noticed with my pair of black jungle ripple soles, that the laces they used with those were different, and also fell apart quite easily.
If you think the black jungles are comfortable, then try these babies, I have the desert tan version of these, the sole is made with a tri-layer sierra sole which means a lot more shock absorbant yet still flexible and breathable as your jungles.
Well worth the money, plus once the treads wear off these because of the tri-layer, they're easy to resole.
Yeah the good old days! I love military surplus stuff. I sorta grew up with the stuff as kid.
Hey arnt there some military boots tested for its resistence to mine blasts (not 100% protection of course)?
I want a girl who likes to talk. ......I just dont know what to say sometimes and would rather just listen.
yea... like im going to walk into my back yard and step on a mine....
actually i ended up buying altama's all leather combat military spec boots... because they are water resistant. not exactly the warmest winter boots, but i wont be outside much anyways.
They are as water resistant as any other leather apparel.
Which means if you dunk your foot in some water, that water will eventually get to your feet.
Remember resistant.
And that's only after you properly treat them with polish and/or mink oil which you will have to do fairly regular basis if you want the best out of them.
Not proof.
If you want waterproof boots look for either gore-tex or some rubber rain boots.
the ones i bought were waterproof AND water resistant
there were two kinds; ones that were just water resistant and ones that were waterproof and resistant(costed a few buckeroos more)
i bought the more expensive waterproof ones
and im not gonna be dunking in water lol
