That's a good thing, Arty. You will be hearing LOTS of it in the next several years.

    You guys crack me up!

I think I'm moving away for a little bit and if I manage to get that other job, then, he'll be staying with his dad for some time while I try to put together a new home for me and him. Do you think that's selfish? I really need to get away from Boston or else I'll keep putting myself in that situation with that guy.

Wait, so you're taking away your son from his dad?
Don't men have rights in this country anymore?
Sorry, I don't know your situation, but if someone took my kids far away, I'd....well, you know.

umm lloyd.. i'm saying i'll be leaving him with his dad for a little bit. doesn't matter, his dad only comes around once a weekend, and treats him more like an obligation. sure, if i take my son far away, i'm worried that he'll hate me but at the same time, i'll be able to dedicate myself to him more. because right now, in my current mental status, i'm too diverted to be a good mom. if i take those distractions away, i'll be more focused on him.

Good thinking. However, can't he legally stop you from taking him far away? I heard that if he had a good lawyer, he can claim that it'd be a hardship to get to see him etc. and could keep you close.

I'm sort of going thru the same thing as well.

    So you have kid(s)?
    Divorce, married??

I don't think my ex would do that. We don't live too far now and it's a terrible chore just to get him to pick him up some weekends, and a few times, he's a no show.

So my only problem is really, right now, I benefit from having my family to watch him when I'm at work.
On the other hand, if I get that higher paying job, I'll be able to pay for daycare and not worry.
I imagine then that I get out of work and pick him up. No problem, see? But it would be a really far away move to get away from the weakness that I have in Boston.

Yes, I have kids. And you end up living for your kids, which is a good thing. Just getting separated sucks.

He could do it just to be a dick, no other reason. Just a thought. Where are you moving to?
