I don't like the idea of Valentine's Day, because I think it's a stupid excuse for people who don't really do anything nice for their partners all year to go "Hey, here's a card and flowers and a nice dinner. Now leave me alone until next year."

Everyday is Valentine's in my house. We'll probably just drink and get it on. More than usual, I mean.

Fcuk valentine's day. I'm with qwerty, and blue for that matter. Valentine's day's only purpose is for people who are in relationships to make single people feel shittier than normal. If you want to have a "day of love", it can be your anniversary, and it's private. I don't want to be bombarded with emails about Valentine's day specials and have to wait in traffic behind trucks delivering loads of fcuking roses.

Why bitter? I'm not bitter, I have the greatest guy in the world, and an awesome relationship. We do nice things for each other and with each other regularly.

It's a commercial holiday, and it means nothing.

ah who cares, it is what it is, a day of love showing, big whup. if you don't like it then ignore it. i think if one is in a relationship it is a great excuse to go wild romantically and not be looked as a wuzzy girly girl by the guys mates for making an effort. freedom to be romantic. you can be sensible every other day...goodness me. deal with it. i do.

why give the guy an excuse to get away with it. romance is almost dead with the nay sayers out there. men are totally unromantic these days and in fact they have turned into crybaby moaners that think they deserve to be treated like a child would. be men. women stop giving men excuses to be useless

Maybe. It's easy enough to ignore it in the stores, but then my email is bombarded with Valentine's day stuff. Then someone writes "HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY" on my bathroom mirror. Then my roommate comes home with roses from her fiance, and when I don't react, she shouts in my face excitedly, "LOOK! I GOT ROSES FROM MY FIANCE!"

Fcuk Valentine's Day. Go take your romance and your smugness somewhere where I don't have to deal with them for one bloody day.

I usually try to dump whoever I'm dating so I don't have to deal with all the nonsense. That or I tell her my grandma just died and I'll be out of town. I hate Valentine's Day with a passion. This year, however, I just picked up a new cutie, so that's not an option. I'll probably waste my money on some lousy flowers and chocolate and say something sappy to her. On the bright side, I'm pretty sure I'll get laid.

Nothing wrong with Valentines Day. A few bottles of grog between you and your loved one, a dozen porno's, the front door locked and phones shut off/pulled from the wall.

Throw in a dozen de-thorned roses across the bed.

Valentines Day CAN be fun.
