    you could chill with me.

give me a call when you get here. how about i pm you my number.
    The interview went bad...

That wouldv'e been cool to chill with you, but i didn't even get on LF.

I've also applied to Tufts, so hopefully in the future...that would be great!

yeah.......the interview didn't go too well, but i just heard from Temple, and I have an interview in january...

...this time, i'm gonna prepare as if my life depended on it!

btw, is anybody here from Indianapolis?

btw - thanks arty! i could have used you for the emotional support! But looks like Boston is out of the picture. Maybe Tufts.....

i just didn't convince them that medicine was something i wanted to pursue. i think i have to do more research, shadow more doctors, and get out more.

i have everything in my head, it's all up there. but i don't have the confidence to speak clearly and concisly.

i'll probably get an 'how to interview book'.

this is the price i pay for having an introverted, shy, quiet guy personality.

i REALLY need to get out, and mix with people.

Lastly, I want to thank ALL the people that have given me encouragment, whaywardj, Asip4u, Indigosould, Lurch, Tone, Arty, there are so many more that have also PM'd me words of encouragment.

I WILL prepare for Temple, and from this day to that, my goal is to come out of my shell - I KNOW I CAN DO IT!

I want to be able to post a thread on here, not as RSK, but as, Dr. RSK!

That would be something to look foward to!

Once again, thanks everyone. whaywardj, thanks for your link to essayedge.com - i will definately use it.

i won't deny it, today i am SAD and DISSAPOINTED

.......but i have plenty of time to 'WOW' temple!

Sorry to hear it didn't go well.

I'm sure you'll find a better place to attend anyways. It's their loss!

    P.S.>> Come to Creighton...

WOW! yeah, it is in philadelphia!

    i'm bad at American geography!

yeah, that would be cool, Lloyd!

I set a date for December 14th, but it coincides with my 'finals week', so the next availabe is first week of January.

I heard Philly is a great place! And the school has a LARGE patient population. I'm looking foward to going...but my goal is to PREPARE, PREPARE, PREPARE

As long as you did your best... I know that sounds trite, but its true.

    Now, for the useful stuff:

It is rare nowadays for someone to get in on their first goround. Many will do a 2 year masters and reapply in the meantime. Are you interested in biomedical research? If so, PM me, I can help you choose an area/researcher in your area that would appeal to the committee.

The other thing they often look for is "life experience". Travel, volunteer some time in a 3rd world country if you can afford this. Look up Physicians Sans Frontiers and see if you can get involved. Becoming a leader/trainer for the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Red Cross will also demonstrate an interest in medicine, esp. patient education and prevention--hot topics in these days of "streamlined" medicine. What are your interests RK?

I wish I could be as helpful as Indi, but really, all I can do is say that I am really sorry you were disappointed.
