btw, i live in a small town and had a break-up, too, so i'm stuck in a similar situation as you … whenever you find a solution to the problem you've described, i'd be thankful if you let me know!

Oh! I just saw your second note!

Nice to meet someone in a similar predicament... though I wouldnt have wished it on you LOL

This guy that I met locally is really taking my mind off of things so far, which has been nice. We talked online the first day, and then he took me out for a quick lunch on the second. Yesterday he phoned and we talked for hours. It has been a sweet diversion!!

Do you play cards at all? I ask because thats one of the things I like to do when I cant seem to get the other things off my mind. Yahoo Games has a lot of options for fun group games - something to do when you cant leave the house at least! (I have two children at home)

Then there's always your local church groups.
Cajun dancing? Make some jambalaya for supper and we're ON!

You Bama Boys know how to have a good ole' fashion fun nite out!

(and I KNOW you're smart enough to know that an evening like that will get a woman to let her guard down)

Inde...just me...but Hays got a good idea going...don't look for a man...look for a fun time..doing fun things...maybe making some new friends...and love will come where and when you least expect it.
If you don't talk to your cat about Catnip...who will?

Oh, I agree 100% on that one! My biggest thing was finding something to do, or figuring out how to meet other locals, in a small town where there just isnt much going on. I've got some great ideas already in this thread, though - so I'm looking forward to getting out and having a little fun! (even if I have to drive to the next town over lol)

    i'm glad for you!
the problem i've got is, that i already know every man that lives in my town. (or so it seems) and they're either with someone already, or, if not, there's a reason for their being single.

On the whole, I'd rather tango . But, have to say, Zydeco sure to hell keeps my wind up. Almost pure aerobics. As for the women, I had to keep MY guard up. Last time I ran into such an amorously aggressive crowd of women was at John's Hideaway in Atlanta. Had to peel them off me repeatedly. Must've been something in the water 'cause the dance club doesn't serve alcohol at its functions.

    LOL! I hear ya, Alice!

But you never know... there may be someone just like you, feeling just like you do, behind closed doors somewhere in that little town *wink*

Thanks for asking - because you reminded me just how strongly I wanted that!
No worries inde - just give it another go.

You can do it. You, alice, RK, and whoever else smokes need to get together and do a group support quitting system or something.
