This thread combined with the "poor me, my girlfriend wanted to have sex" thread makes me want to stab this guy in the eye with a fork.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

For some reason, the whole "I'm on a higher spiritual and moral plane than most people" bit is more offensive to me than almost any other type of thread we get. I think the only ones that annoy me more are the "I want to sleep with my mother/sister/cousin/neighbor child, and you shouldn't think I am weird" ones.

Varulfr, you took a whole lot of time to say nothing.

By your logic there's no such thing as sadness because it's just chemicals making us feel that way.

Everyone does that. Then one day people realize it doesn't matter. The right feeling is the one that makes me you happy. I'll take lust and infatuation over love ANYDAY..ofcourse that is by other people's opinion....mine I personally think that butterfly feeling in the stomach IS love...and not attachment...attachment is attachment.

Love is waking up next to the same woman day after day. It's keeping a spark alive after the fire's dead. It's learning to accept your partner's shortcomings. In short, it's work. And unless you're planning on raising children I don't see the point in even bothering with it. I'd rather jump from woman to woman, savoring the euphoria of fresh relationships, than beat a dead horse. But that's my take on things.

P.S. Why do people insist on writing huge essays when only a few short paragraphs would suffice? I find myself reading people's comments in order to figure out what's going on rather than the post itself.

By your logic I've actually been in love before. That's some scary shit right there. Of course people call Romeo and Juliet THE love story, so you've got a point.

I believe everyone has been in love much earlier then anyone thinks, it becomes more and more intense in most cases as the person grows. They tried to call this infatuation because they didn't like love to be something that might fade but infatuation description did not cover it all so they created a new word called limerence...the fact is that it is still love...some people just don't want to admit it cause they had a bad experience with it. Why is it scary shit? I think love is biological...not some special personality connection. Just read old poetry by famous writers, how do they describe love? how do disney movies describe love? .......exactly. You can disagree with the meaning but you can't change it. These days the word love has got a new meaning and it is attachment...with most people. You have to get to know them first to love them right? why? I never got that since to me love is a FEELING and not a REACTION. That is why I believe that you can love someone you hate.
