for the first point. maybe he resents being questioned about his activities like he is on triel.
for the second point. maybe he was just trying to cheer a friend up. maybe she was just so screwd up in the head she needed a drink and a sholder to cry on. maybe he was being a soggy sholder.
maybe afterwards he got sick of you treating him like a criminal and just doesnt care anymore.
