Go look in a pawn shop for a used guitar. You will get a better-quality used guitar for $200 than you could get brand new.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

Me too. That way, if you want to plug in later and buy an amp and all that, you have that option too.

Fender is a pretty reliable, inexpensive option. Mine's a Yamaha, middle of the line. It cost about $500.

Well, i'll think about buying a used one. There is only one used/new guitar shop around the place i'm living. They have ARIA, CORT, JOHNSON, LARRIVEE, MARTIN, NATIONAL, TAKAMINE and YAMAHA. Which brand do you recommend? And again, around $200 canadian is enough for a descent guitar right?

if you're gonna get an acoustic, and you're a beginner, you'll probably like it.

personally i'm STILL wishing for an Ibanez acoustic/electric.

Yamaha is generally pretty reliable. I don't know that particular model. I've owned an Aria, a Guild and an Ovation. The Guild had the best sound.

You have to commit two hours of just playing all of them and listening- make the salesmen leave you alone. You need to hear the voice of your new guitar.

But the guitar shop has all its guitars hanging on walls. I'll need the salesman to take off every single one within my price range. And why do you own so many guitars???

I don't own but one guitar right now, but I'm, like, three times older than you, Jimmy.

I got my first guitar twenty years ago, in lieu of the engagement ring I refused to accept from my crazy boyfriend.

Almost everyone on this forum is a guitar expert. Amazing.

    Here's the specifications for FG700S:

    Solid Spruce Top
    Nato Back and Sides
    Nato Neck
    Indian Rosewood Fretboard
    Indian Rosewood Bridge
    20 Frets
    Chrome Hardware
    Natural Matt finish

    Whats Nato?
