Actually I read somewhere about a school that banned kids from playing tag because they felt it encouraged to much of a competitive edge in kids to early in life. So basically they can run around but they can't chase each other.

I remember reading that somewhere. What rubbish. Before you know it there won't be tests, quizzes, or grading of any sort in elementary school. There will be no sports. No accolades for students who excel. It seems America's policy is to hold children back rather than let them shine.
