If you guys like free long distance, download Skype and get yourself a Linksys CIT400 ... I use it to talk to me wife without having to be chained to a computer ...

Oh it was worth it. Unfortunately, I will have to fork in another $300 in for the new OS and a new Windows disc.
Hmm, not sure what the problem is if you have the same one. Do you have just the Macbook? Or the Macbook Pro? My friends could hear me scratching my balls on the other side of my room, 8 feet away. Not sure what to tell you! I could try a friend's headset and tell you if that makes a difference.
I used to use Ventrillo and Team speak when I used to game A LOT...but don't game anymore. Games to me are like drugs, and I broke my habit. Don't want to start up again.
As for quality wise, I found Team speak to be a little better but both were still good. Haven't tried skype, don't really need it.
Black MB, 2.2. The mic & camera, etc are the same as the pro. The tradeoff for the better graphics & separate processor wasn't worth the step up in size for us (we travel w/the machine for talks a lot). Most of the time, its hooked up to a large screen standalone so the screensize wasn't an issue either.
Dunno why the echo. Mbe headsets on both sides might fix, but I find it irritating when our friends call on Skype, regardless. I'm old fashioned; don't like the idea of my phone tied to my electricity. Should be independent systems.

yeah, I prefer real phones too. But, when a call costs $10 dollars with a "cheap" long distance call service, yet it costs only .50c (on skypeout), it makes sense.
doesn't always work because my connection is often freakishly slow, though.
i'll d/l it later when i'm not trying to catch up on all the new posts.

...this is just my perspective on the situation...
I have skype, but only my mother uses it, rarely. And its free for me.I am thinking of uninstalling it, damn thing pops up everywhere.
Btw, did you know that skype belongs to estonians?
I actually don't use my cell phone either, I can just throw it away....
Don't expect anything.
No I didn't know it was an estonian product. Even so, I am awestruck that you would rather delete it.
What is so awestruck about it?
Don't expect anything.
