Dragoon is writing not because he is so "taken" with that girl. Dragoon is writing because he notices an incongruity in how a person so objectively "good" (that girl) can be so incompatible with another person who is also so objectively "good" (our hero Dragoon).

The hint is: objective "goodness" has very little influence on compatibility between two people. It's the subjectivity that matters in a relationship.

I can sort of relate to your particular situation way. My girlfriend is the same way - really intelligent but not much of an "intellectual". But that's what I have friends for. The group of guys that I hang out with talk about anything and everything and that's where I get my thought. She has some interests that I find pretty boring/childish/whatever but she does those things with her friends. We're both learning what we like about each other and what we don't get from each other we can find in other places. It's not big things, though - nothing that would ruin the relationship. We both love each other and get so much out of being together but we have other needs to. You have to be careful of jealousy though. Sometimes, she'll be telling me about all the fun she had with her friends and, even though it's not something I would necessarily have fun doing, I get jealous of her spending time with them. But then I realize that I do the same thing to her sometimes and I don't let it bother. Give and take - that's what it's all about. List her pros and cons - if this is the only con you'd be stupid to throw it away.
