I agree that different cultures frown upon different things. And I agree that the media will sensationalize the news they want us to talk about and I don't know that they don't just do it arbitrarily. Like the Spanish team's photo, for instance. To me it's no big deal, I don't think any disrespect was meant by it. I hate that we have to walk on eggshells so that we don't offend anyone, and that may be because I'm not personally offended easily. It wouldn't bother me if the olympics were in Mexico and a team posed with bigass sombreros. I'd be like "whatever", obviously the meaning is "we're going to the olympics and it's in Mexico".
Short, illusional..what do you guys think? Were you offended by the picture or do you think it was disrespectful?
