Dating sites are probably the easiest, most convenient and least time consuming way to find a good quality partner who is looking for similar things as you.

As with all things there's a method that narrows down good matches and shortens the time to obtain good results. Don't listen to nay sayers eco, dating sites are the way of the future.

I'm on eHarmony at the moment. I haven't given dating sites a go in a long time. eHarmony seems okay and seems to return reasonable matches, but I get the feeling they loosen the criteria to send more local matches, because the women from farther away always seem to be better matches.

That's probably true but not for the reason you suggest. I'm sure that the eHarmony selection program places a great negative weight on longer distance so the non-locals have to be much better matches in all other respects to be selected.
