just tried to download aim, what a pain in the ass my username is ecojj1 but i can't get feckin' into the chat, where is it? i'm on the dashboard and as far as i can see the only chat is where there are loads of chatrooms....not my cup of tea. i give up

It's really not that difficult of a program.
You download AIM. It's an actual program. You install it. You open it. You log in.
It's pretty elementary.I don't chase, I replace.

I'm thinking of starting one. The universities tell parents it's the best way to maintain contact with your college kids.
Relax... I'll need some information first. Just the basic facts - can you show me where it hurts?

I suppose if you are one of their Facebook friends then you can see who they are in contact with. One of the things about FB is that you will get to access some things about their social network. Not sure how a young adult might feel about their parents getting to see their wall comments, tho, lol. Go & get an account and check out the format to see what I mean. Your kids seem rather adult, tho, so mbe okay.
What I recommend is Skype. If they have a comp with a camera, like most LTs do these days, then you can have face-to-face communication. Basically like video phone. And its free all over the world. We've been keeping in contact with work/F&F with it these past months. Works great.
