Man, you have everything backwards. That is all single mothers are good for is a single night. You don't want to stick around and than a year later realize you have responsibilities that don't even belong to you.

Not to mention that she is not right for you. You are still a virgin and she already pushed a 5-7 lbs baby out of her. Come on. I need to find people like you, someone who will take care of my baby after I have it with some woman..that would be swell.

For me personally it was a S.A.P. day (single and Proud day)

I sat in a coffee shop drinking my favourite coffee and thought to myself. Wow! How awesome is this being single. I'm the luckiest person in the world. No egos to babyseat. No other people's emotions to be stroked. No care in the world. Can wear what I want, do what I want, watch what I want, eat what I want, go out with whom I want, have sex as much as I want and no one will say a thing (noone that matters anyway). I can be myself and not make any excuses for anybody. It was a glorious day and I'm hoping to celebrate another one.

I hate V-day. I ignored it once and had to listen to a girl weep and moan for hours. So now I make sure that if I'm dating a chick I dump her just prior to it. That or my grandmother conveniently dies and I have to go out of town for the funeral.

I've copped Sammy's birthday yesterday and now bloody valentine's day! The two worst things to get when you've just started seeing a chick.

I don't mind valentine's day actually. What's the harm of it? Most girls just need some flowers and maybe a dinner out somewhere and they're happy.
Is it burnin'? Well, f-ck, now you're learnin'.

Singles Awareness Day? Is that the politically correct term for "I'm pathetic for feeling bad about being single on a commercially made-up holiday day?"
"Well, then," the Cat went on, "you see a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its tail when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my tail when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad."

Singles Awareness Day (S.A.D) yeah it was actually started by the Lovers-Go-Die Club in Japan lol it's the Anti-valentines day for those people that are alone on the 14th.

but it's been integrated into society here as just another term for V-day for singles. most singles are most aware of there single status on V-day because it's a day dedicated to couples. it's quite funny actually.

extra: Lovers-go-die club (Japanese: 死ね死ね団 (Shine-shine-dan); Traditional Chinese: 去死去死團、情侶去死團) is a club against unmoral or materialistic couples. The idea comes from the manga Ping-Pong Club. In this manga, one of the members betrayed their fellow table-tennis team members and went on a date with a girl. Therefore, the other team members formed the "Lovers go die" club and tried to break up the couple. Unit Solo (Korean: 솔로부대, Hanja: -部隊) has a similar meaning in South Korea. In East Asia, it has become a movement against public displays of affection.

According to the USPTO website (www.uspto.gov), John Byrd and John E. Norman, attorneys from Arkansas and Kentucky, respectively, hold the trademarks to both Single Awareness Day and Singles Awareness Day.

Yeah... Because one cannot possibly celebrate valentine's day by telling their mother, father, sister, brother, or grandparents that they're loved.

Uh huh.

It's not funny, it's pathetic. The fact that you cannot refer to it as Valentine's day because you're bitter about being single, is laughable at best.

And unmoral? Define unmoral as a broad term that encompasses everyone.

I am sorry, Lite, but Vday has nothing to do with your relatives. it's a celebration for LOVERS only.

You really crack me up dude. i can agree, people need to look around more at what love they do have and not what there missing. I feel this is a wide spread human flaw, always reaching for what they want and taking for granted what they have.

I use the term S.A.D because I make light of the fact that I'm single. I mean i notice a lot about dating is the physical pull and frankly I am enriched by the luving friendships I have. I know a few people that use S.A.D as a way to sulk, and it kinda upsets me when it's that hard to find happiness.

mind you I am a very laid back guy despite what these forums sound like. I post mainly to get peoples opinions because I am intrigued by what people think. the best teachers are those not locked into a curriculum. if something comes up I like to bounce it off people to see how it translates into others persona.

and when Lovers-Go-Die club says, unmoral they are refering to public affection. it's sad really, why should anyone hide their love. though I understand making someone a 3rd wheel by inviting them yo hang out and then ignoring them for your partner, that can be a little upsetting but that's another topic that I won't open lol.

That's funny, there are cards all over the place for family members, kids, sons, daughters, grandkids. Look around a bit more. Just because it is more heavily marketed (And we're talking about a made-up holiday as a conspiracy to make money here.) towards cliche shit like "Get her a PEARL NECKLACE for VJDAY!" doesn't mean that is what it is limited to.

Hell, you can get valentine's day dog treats from specialty bakeries. It's really whatever you make the day out to mean to you. For some people Christmas is about gifts, for others family, for others yet it's just another day of the year.

Lite, you know i am right. you have to go back to the roots and history of Vday. It doesn't matter how it has been marketed and to whom.
