Why is my friend/date ignoring me all of a sudden????

When you confronted him, he probably though "oh crap!" and started running frantically through his mind for answers; obviously worried what you are thinking. My guess is that he probably just listed a bunch of problems he has to you and thought something like, "the answer is probably in there somewhere."
