I would say have your friends visit Texas... then you can make fun of them as they whine and cry about the blistering heat and humidity so high they'd want to jump in a lake for reduced humidity.

But in all seriousness... the southern states aren't too bad... just stay clear of certain parts of Louisiana... and do not get lost in Arkansas.

I have yet to see a guy 'go to town' on a hole in the ground.

I'd say Michigan. One of my fondest childhood memories was traveling Frankfurt in Mid-summer with my grandparents, brother, and mother. The sands of lake Michigan are beautiful.

My aunt and uncle own a farm in southern Michigan. I visited them frequently in the summer, as a child. I'd usually stay for a week or two. They had a lot of barn cats, and 3 dogs. I loved being around the animals, and just being surrounded by the land. The landscape surrounding their house is very beautiful. I remember the soothing draft stroking my face in the warm Summer air, as I lay in the hammock, late afternoon. My uncle and I would spend weekend afternoons away from the house, going golfing. One time we traveled all the way to Sandusky, to Cedar Point, just the two of us.

Ohio is also a great place. I was born there.

Florida is a great place for tourism, especially for me, because there's nothing I love more than sitting out all day and fishing.

South dakota is also a great place for fishing. Hunting too, if you're into that. A stretch of the Great Plains lies across SD. The sky is what completes the landscape, though. In the west you'll find the black hills, and around that area is Mt. Rushmore. Also, if you speak German, many citizens of South Dakota are of German descent, and many still speak German dialects, often in every day speech.

I've lived in each of those places for a significant time in my life. It doesn't really matter where you go. There's always something to see. Just enjoy it.

Dude, New Orleans is f*cking HOT, right now.

No humidity 'cept in the mornings, and it reached 100 degrees today.

    Usually it's muggy as hell.

It's been an average of 50 degrees here. Sometimes it gets about 70.

    There are brown ones everywhere

The slum I grew up in was actually fairly mixed. One of my best childhood friends had a father from India, and a mother from Central America. My best friends were colored folk.

I never understood why friends from high school left California to go to college. You live in a state where TONS of people dream of going to school to go to a miserable weather, boring, nothing happening, state. I know 4 people that have turned around in one year to come back.
California is a state of lost identity.
