Can I kill myself in that case? No... because I'm not mentally unstable and I do have a fond appreciation for life -- particularly my own.

A sane person wouldn't contemplate killing anyone -- including themselves, as they would have sense enough to know that the pain from the betrayal won't be forever and after their heart has healed they can try again with someone new.
