The rich CEO is the alpha, not the trainer or the poolboy. LOL, all it would take is a phone call to run that guy out of town (or a job). As DM says, they are there by the CEOs tolerance, no other reason.

I feel like nowadays being an "alpha" anything, relates more to job skill. Especially since most jobs don't require you to beat competition into submission or death.

I'm more alpha than many of the men who I manage. In the workplace, anyway.

Managers need to be, otherwise everyone will lose respect for them.

I hate to break it to you, but they probably let you. It's not exactly a wise career move to challenge your boss's authority. lol

The alpha is the one who everyone respects the most.

They're not necessarily the one who is liked the most... as affinity and respect are separate things.
"The weakest soul, knowing its own weakness, and believing this truth that strength can only be developed by effort and practice, will, thus believing, at once begin to exert itself, and, adding effort to effort, patience to patience, and strength to strength, will never cease to develop, and will at last grow divinely strong."

FYI, I don't use the word 'manager' as a title. I think it sets up the wrong dynamic with staff.

Actually Neo, I rarely allow that kind of dynamic to be set up (challenge). The few times its happened, is b/c I screwed up handling a situation.

Do you have any clue what I might mean by this?

Because using 'pimp' is more effective at establishing the chain of command.

    Chief Operating Pimp.

    Chief Financial Pimp.

    Chief Executive Pimp.

I like it. I just read today about a new Chief Play Officer position being created... LOL CPO. And I guess if there are 3 of them at a company you get...

    ???
