I am not making this about me. I am just stating that its not as bad as you think. People will die. Houses will be destroyed. People will be left with nothing. Yes this is all true. Its nature - and its a bitch. But why curse at it or run from it, when you can embrace it. You could marvel at its beauty. You can accept that its comming and enjoy it.Originally Posted by squirrley
Fear nothing. And like you of all people should know, Everything happens for a reason, So why fear whats comming ?
just about the same girl! Not far enough, but it doesnt matter, Charley impacted and killed most of the people in the MIDDLE OF THE STATE! Yea we have how many towns that are NO more in the MIDDLE OF THE STATE! hmm. Doesnt matter WHERE you live here, you will have an impact from it.
everything happens for a reason...beginning to wonder why.
Same here. We are empacted just as much as you are.Originally Posted by squirrley
Actually you aren't impacted as much as Squirt -Originally Posted by BillyGalbreath
This storm isn't in the Gulf, by the time it reaches you it will have crossed alot of land meaning it will lose strength and just be thunderstorms - when it makes land fall there is storm surge, tornados are spawned, not to mention the sheer wind that this thing will generate.

Billy SHUT the **** UP! Im NOT embracing nothing, but praying to God that no one gets killed this time. Thats what Im praying for. What you are seeing is from the weather channel. YOU are not getting the feedback from the local channels here.
If this wasnt such a big deal, and everyone listened to your ideas in embracing it, there would be an immense deal of death here. And I for one would be in Atlanta with Iron. I wouldve been able to get out of this state.
Can you comprehend 2 and half million people leaving? YES, people are NOT being ignorant any longer, and know what can happen and getting the hell out.
Yes everything happens for a reason, but this is the exception to the rule, and my saying is more for PEOPLE in general, not weather related.
Ya know what, when youre family is in harms way, its another story. My grandparents live in the INLANDS of FL, and suffered a great deal. You dont have the slightest idea what this state has really gone through in the last weeks. NO idea. Billy this is suppose to be a supportive thread for those of us who are in the path of it or around it, and you making it sound like its no big deal really says alot about you. I would be the first in line to say prayers if ANYONE on here were in some harm way and saying prayers, I do not wish this on anyone. It just boggles the mind to see your non chalant manners of who gives a shit if you die or lose your home.

You're missing my entire point - this storm wont hit me. I never said that it would either. I am trying to say that I've been in a cat4 before and loved it. It hit Florida as a weaker cat4 and picked up strength over the gulf, then hit us and Louisiana. Almost a cat5 by the time it hit land. We got the tornadoes, we got the strong ass winds that tore out trees and flipped cars, etc. We got the floods, we got the hard rain. My point I am trying to make is that When we get hit by a hurricane we get it just as bad as you do when you get hit by one. So dont think just cause your little state sticks its ass out in the waters to make a penisula, that you get it worse than everyone else. I get it just as bad.Originally Posted by jslaughter
So the point before that is that you can't tell me that I don't know what kind of damage a hurricane causes - I've lived thru alot of them. I've been in alot of them. I've played in alot of them. I know what they can do. I've been hurt by a few of them. I've known people who have died from them. I've seen the destrucive forces at their very best. So don't tell me I get "organized storms".
Now the original point was that I am not scared of these storms and neither should anyone else. These storms are a beautiful thing. Very powerful, Very distructive, Very deadly. Lives will be losts. Homes destroyed. There is no stopping it. Why cause yourself stress fearing over the inevitable, when you could make yourself feel much better by enjoying the show.
Praying will get you nowhere with a hurricane - it is God's wrath. He made this storm. He knows its comming. He put it on its path. This is not a test to see who is religious or not for him. In fact, its a test of strength and will.Originally Posted by squirrley
Have you ever been in a car crash ? What happens when you freak out and tense up your muscles ? You get hurt WORSE than if you were to sit there, not flinching, not tightening your muscles, not trying to hide yourself from it by covering your face, not being scared by it.
Fear brings death. Don't fear this storm or your chances of surviving will lower. Thats all I am trying to say. I am not telling you to go outside and play in it - that is my own choice to do that with myself. I am just trying to tell you NOT TO BE SCARED OF IT. You will be better off without fear. I promise.
so here it is an now it comes the power will be out soon verry soon. si iwll remain here and prepare and take any action that needs to be done. i must admit that i am prepares to ride out this storm, and you know what there are some choices i have made and i hope and pray that everything will be fine and it will. so i will talk to evryone soon........its starting to get dark soon. i hav e plent of water ciggs smoke a bottle of wine and a dafe room to be so i will hope for the best im alittle nerous so soory about the spelling. ic ya soon.........
Have fun ! Wish I was there !![]()
First and foremost, I didn't tell you what you have experienced, but YOU made the comment that you are impacted by Frances as much as anyone in Florida and that was a FALSE statement, as someone who prizes logic surely you can appreciate the falseness of that statement.
I've lived all over the South from New Orleans to Pensacola, Florida and I have lived longer than you, given the history of hurricanes in the Gulf I can say with CONFIDENCE that I have been through more hurricanes than you have. As a matter of fact checking the past nine years of tropical storms the state of Florida has been hit 21 times by something that was a tropical storm or higher, Texas was only hit nine times and I am unclear which CAT4 you were hit by - can you please tell me which one it was and when? I don't see anything that followed the path you referenced.
I was in Pensacola the year that we were hit twice in one season by Hurricanes Erin and Opal. I lived without power for five days and I was one of the lucky ones. I went out to the beach property to help clean up and saw the municpal pier GONE, business gutted, homes destroyed, etc.
The point is very very simple - here we try to support one another - when you are going through issues and heart break I have always tried to give you honest, helpful, SUPPORTIVE advice - how supportive do you think it is to tell people confronted with losing their homes, things, and possibly even loved ones that hurricanes are great you wish you could experience one? It would be like you getting raped and $ucked up the @ss - and someone telling you "Wow getting $ucked up the @ss is fun - wish I could've been in your shoes." How much would you appreciate that kind of support?

Ya know what? I prayed for everyones safety, and just read theres already one death accounted for in the bahama's. He was 18. How sad, that this young person is gone now. It's just beginning too. Jules, its speeds are slowing down, and I dont know what to expect other than the local channels stating we're going to get severe flooding and tropical winds, which of course as you know is just as a damaging.
Blue~hang in there girl, my prayers are with you.

I'll tell you what though, I'd rather be in a hurricane then in a F-5 Tornado...my lord. The damage that thing does!![]()

I wouldnt want to be in either Innova. Ive watched storm stories about Cat 5 tornados. Oh hell no, Ive watched the interviews with those who made it through, and their description sends chills up my spine. As a matter of fact, last week, this woman was telling us how her husband was pushing her into their closet in their mobile home, and he was yelling at her, there was enough room for one person, and she said within those seconds, he was gone. He was found later I dont know how many miles away, obviously didnt make it. But they showed his picture and their home afterwards, and all that was left was her support beam to the closet she was in...
